FAQ
Words are sequences of characters separated by whitespace. Empty text returns zero for all counts.
Yes. Sentences are estimated from ending punctuation such as periods, question marks, and exclamation points. A trailing fragment without punctuation counts as a sentence.
Reading time uses an average of about 200 words per minute. Speaking time uses about 130 words per minute. For adjustable speeds, use the Reading-Time Calculator.
