Look up the Uniform Lifetime Table distribution period for your age and tax year, then divide account balance by that period.
How to use this tool
Enter year-end account balance, your age in the distribution year, and tax year (2025 or 2026). Optionally choose Joint Life or Auto and enter spouse age when the spouse is more than 10 years younger.
Worked example
A $500,000 IRA at age 75 uses a 24.6 Uniform Lifetime period (~$20,325 RMD). With a spouse age 60, Joint Life uses 28.3 (~$17,668 RMD).
How it works
Looks up the IRS Uniform Lifetime Table distribution period for your age and tax year by default, then divides account balance by that period. When your spouse is the sole beneficiary and more than 10 years younger, you can select (or auto-select) Joint Life & Last Survivor Table II for a typically longer period and smaller RMD.
Limitations
Estimates only for educational purposes. Not financial, tax, or legal advice. Verify figures with your lender, advisor, or official IRS/SSA sources before making decisions.
