Estimate transfer fees, interest during a promo window, interest if you keep the current APR, and net savings.
How to use this tool
Enter balance, current APR, fee %, promo APR, promo length, go-to APR after promo, and planned monthly payment. Transfer fees can be entered as a percent of the transfer amount or a flat dollar fee.
Worked example
Transferring $8,000 at 22% to a 0% 15-month promo with a 3% fee, 17.99% go-to APR, and $400 payments often yields positive net savings — but a remaining balance after promo will accrue interest at the go-to rate.
How it works
Compares interest if you keep the balance on your current card versus transferring to a promo-rate card (net of the transfer fee). After the promo window, remaining transfer balance continues to amortize at the go-to APR until paid off.
Limitations
Estimates only for educational purposes. Not financial, tax, or legal advice. Verify figures with your lender, advisor, or official IRS/SSA sources before making decisions.
