  • Browser-based
  • No signup

Paste an article or script to estimate reading and speaking time. Uses the same word-count logic as Word Counter, with adjustable words-per-minute speeds for content planning and SEO.

100% Client-Side

Your data never leaves your computer.

How to use this tool

1. Paste or type the text to measure. 2. Set reading speed (WPM) and speaking speed (WPM) if defaults do not match your audience. 3. Read the estimated reading and speaking times. 4. Adjust text or speeds to plan article or script length.

Worked example

Example: a 300-word article at 200 WPM reading speed gives about 1.5 minutes of reading time.

How it works

Paste text to estimate reading and speaking time from word count. Default speeds are about 200 words per minute for reading and 130 for speaking. You can adjust both speeds. Timing logic is shared with the Word Counter and runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

How is reading time calculated?

Word count is divided by your reading speed in words per minute. The default is 200 WPM. Speaking time defaults to 130 WPM.

Is this the same as Word Counter?

It reuses the same word-count logic, but focuses on reading and speaking time with adjustable speeds for SEO and content planning.

Is my text stored?

No. Timing runs locally in your browser and text is not stored.
